Beware when dealing with the above companies.

I booked a shipment from Shenzhen to Santo Domingo and prepaid the freight to Shenzhen Top Way International Forwarding Co., Ltd. I was given a set of BLs marked Freight Prepaid issued by Amass Freight International Co., Ltd. Shanghai. The agent named for delivery in the BL is Paname Agent. The local agent in destination is Panama Consolidation Services, Inc.

Here is my story...

Neutral Logistics held the goods for ransom to collect charges in addition to the local fees at destination. These extra charges were invoiced by Neutral Logistics in Spanish as "Cargo De Origin" which means charges from origin. No further details were provided. The amount of the charges is over USD $2,200. The consignees were told that they can get these charges refunded by asking the shipper (me) to ask the agent in China to issue a credit note. Shenzhen Topway International Forwarding Co., Ltd. is unable or unwilling to issue any such credit note and there is clear case of fraud here.

I am now looking for a lawyer in Shanghai to help the consignee sue Amass Freight International Co., Ltd. Shanghai for violating the contract of carriage. Check back here soon to find out the result of the legal case.
